Laura T. Fisher

I’m a 4th generation Chicagoan with fierce loyalty to my hometown. My grandmother ran a hat shop at Belmont and Cicero during the depression.  My grandfather was an electrician on some of Chicago’s first sky-scrapers. I’ve got 8 siblings, which has made me competitive, loyal, and able to land a punch as well as a punch-line.

As a theatre actor, I’ve performed in large venues like Steppenwolf, beloved storefronts and basements, and everything in between. Beyond Chicago, I’ve performed in New York, regional theatres, and abroad in Scotland, Singapore, and throughout the middle-east.  In film/tv, I’ve gotten to work with heroes and crushes: Matt Damon, Taraji P Henson, Colin Farrell, Jim True Frost, and most recently John Goodman.

When not performing, I travel throughout the country advocating on behalf of Not In Our House, an organization that seeks to prevent and respond to unsafe and unethical practices in arts organizations.
